With their newest CD "Tierisch" and the corresponding show the Premier Swingtett continue work on their "German Songbook", giving new life to songs by German composers like Werner Richard Heymann, Friedrich Holländer or Kurt Weill. With charming cheekiness the 4 musicians rearrange the music that was originally made popular by artists like Marlene Dietrich, the Comedian Harmonists or Heinz Rühmann and perform it in a sound that may well have been heard in those days also. If the venue allows, they play without any form of amplification, the 2 guitars, bass and violin sound natural, just as they did in the 20s and 30s. However this love for authenticity is not exaggerated. The main aims remain well-balanced sound, hand-crafted music and most of all: good entertainment. The latter is achieved through a colorful program that is spiced with own compositions and numbers that might otherwise be expected in the world of vaudeville.
